Recently confirming its July launch, Nissan again teased the X-Trail SUV highlighting key features. After being discontinued a decade back, the X-Trail will return to our showrooms as a CBU vehicle. With only Magnite on sale, Nissan aims to bring an onslaught of new cars, including Juke and Qashqai, starting with the X-Trail. Rivals upon launch to include Skoda Kodiaq and Hyundai Tucson.
Sitting on Nissan-Renault’s CMF-C modular platform, the SUV runs 4.7 metres long and 2 metres wide. In the teaser, we could spot the iconic V-Motion grille, machine-cut alloys likely from Tekna grade, split headlamp unit with DRLs above and L-shaped LED tail lights.
Sources tell us Nissan would equip the X-Trail with a 1.5-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine generating 201 bhp and 305 Nm of pull force. While it gets a hybrid setup overseas, Nissan is unlikely to offer the same here owing to high import duties. Transmission duties are to be taken care of by a CVT gearbox and all-wheel drive will be on board.
