It is no secret that Renault is testing the new 7-seater Duster in India as well as foreign soil. To be called the Renault Boreal, the SUV is all set to make its debut on 10th July, 2025. This SUV will first go on sale in Brazil, while the India launch is scheduled in the first half of 2026.
The Renault Boreal is based on the same CMF-B modular platform that underpins the new-gen Duster and Dacia Bigster. It is expected that the global-spec model will be a 5-seater SUV and will rival the likes of the Jeep Compass and Toyota Corolla Cross.
On the flip side, Renault has confirmed that it will launch a new 7-seater SUV based on the same CMF-B modular platform. The French automaker will utilise the large boot space to add third-row seats. It will be positioned against the likes of the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV700.

Based on the spy images, folks at quatrorodas have released new renderings of the Boreal based on the spy images. The front fascia of the new Duster 7-seater SUV gets the signature Renault grille with Renault diamond badge in the centre. The lower bumper appears identical to the new Duster, while the headlamp unit is uniquely designed in split form,
The rear profile design seems inspired by the Symbioz, featuring crescent-shaped LED tail-lights. It comes with uniquely styled tailgate with strong curves and new aggressive bumper with silver accents. The bumper also houses faux air vents to offer a robust and sporty look.
The Renault Boreal will be powered by the same 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that powers the Duster SUV. This engine is capable of producing 151bhp and 250Nm of torque. Both manual and dual-clutch automatic gearbox options will be on offer.
The Renault Duster 7-seater SUV will also receive a hybrid engine options shortly. The SUV’s E-Tech hybrid tech includes a 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine, a battery pack and an electric motor. The combined power output stands at 140hp.
