The upcoming Renault Kwid Electric has been spotted once again in India. This time, the car was seen on a flatbed truck near the Chennai airport. Renault is expected to launch the electric hatchback in India soon.

This isn’t the first time the electric Kwid has been seen on Indian roads. It was earlier captured in August last year. However, the latest sighting shows the vehicle with reduced camouflage, offering a clearer view of its exterior updates. Key highlights include new Y-shaped LED taillights, a rear windshield wiper, and steel wheels, all of which suggest a blend of practicality and fresh design cues.
The electric Kwid was first unveiled globally as the Dacia Spring EV in February last year. The model spotted during earlier tests was the Dacia-badged version, which is expected to be rebadged as a Renault for the Indian market. The vehicle’s compact dimensions and electric powertrain position it as a potential game-changer in India’s affordable EV segment.
In international markets, the Kwid EV is available with two electric motor configurations. The standard variant features a 44 BHP motor, while the higher-spec trims get a more powerful 64 BHP unit. Both versions are equipped with a 26.8 kWh battery pack that delivers an estimated range of 220 km on a single charge.
With testing now well underway, Renault is expected to introduce the Kwid EV in India soon. Once launched, it will join the growing list of compact electric cars aiming to make EV ownership more accessible to the mass market.
