Tata Motors has launched the new Altroz Racer, a performance oriented version of the hatchback in the country. The new model comes with cosmetic design changes and a feature-loaded cabin along with a more powerful turbo petrol engine. The new Altroz hatchback is available in 3 variants - R1, R2 and R3 - priced at Rs 9.49 lakh, Rs 10.49 lakh and Rs 10.99 lakh, respectively. The Tata Altroz Racer directly rivals the Hyundai i20 N Line.
The new Tata Altroz Racer is powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 120PS and 170Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox. It is available in three colour options - Pure Grey, Atomic Orange and Avenue White.
This entry-level variant rides on 16-inch alloy wheels. In terms of features, the hatchback gets leatherette seats, LED daytime running lamps, rear armrest, rear wipers & wash, 4-speakers + 4 tweeters, projector headlamps, front fog lamps, rear defogger, front sliding armrest, all-4 power windows, electrically adjustable & autofold ORVM, cruise control, height adjustable driver seat, rear AC vents and auto headlamps and rain sensing wipers. It is packed with a 10.24-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The sporty Altroz Racer R2 variant has all the features that are accessible in the R1 variant. Adding to it, this variant gets electric sunroof with voice assist, a wireless phone charging, a 7-inch TFT digital instrument cluster, steering mounted cluster, a 360 degree surround view camera, and Xpress Cool feature.
This variant gets 3 additional features over the R2 variant. It comes with iRA connected car tech, a segment-first ventilated front seats and an air purifier.
Seeing the growing demand for hybrid cars, popular mass-market car manufacturers like Kia, Hyundai, Mahindra and Renault are planning to launch hybrid SUVs in India.
