Tata Motors has been working on the all-electric Harrier SUV. Expected to launch in early 2025, the mid-size electric SUV has recently been spied testing in Leh, India. This is the first time when the EV was spotted in the country, revealing its powertrain details. Here is what we have known so far about the EV.

The spy images reveal that the Harrier EV has a rear-axle-mounted electric motor. It also has dual electric motors, one is for the front axle and the other one is for the rear axle. This clearly indicates that the vehicle will come with an AWD drivetrain.. Although there is no information regarding its electric motor and battery pack, we can expect it to be offered with over 500 km.
Tata Harrier EV will retain the same design elements and silhouette as its ICE-powered version. However, there will be some changes specifically designed for the EV. For instance, it will feature a closed-off front grille and connected LED lighting elements on the front & rear, and aero-specific alloy with a 5-spoke design. Besides, the bumper design will be designed to make it look like an EV.
As for the features, the electric Harrier is likely to provide the same features as offered in its diesel variant. These might include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, ventilated & powered front seats, a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, wireless phone charging, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, gesture-enabled powered tailgate, and a panoramic sunroof with mood lighting.
The electric Harrier is likely to be launched in the Indian market by 2025. This might be priced from Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon launch, it will rival the upcoming Mahindra XUV.e8.
