Tata Motors is preparing an electric version of its Harrier SUV. The recent spy shots show the Tata Harrier EV under test at CoASTT High Performance Centre in Coimbatore. It will be a replica of what was first revealed at the 2023 Auto Expo-show. The car is likely to form one of the most significant parts of the strategies that Tata Motors will undertake to expand the electric vehicle potential in India.
The Harrier EV will be based on the Acti.ev platform, which is used for Tata's other electric vehicles, such as the Punch EV and Curvv EV. It is likely to come with a 60 kWh battery and an AWD dual-motor setup. The range for the Harrier EV is expected to be around 500 kilometers with a full charge. It will also support 11 kW AC charging and DC fast charging.
The Harrier EV is expected to get a price range of Rs. 25 lakh to Rs. 30 lakh, ex-showroom. It will compete with MG ZS EV and BYD Atto 3. The upcoming Hyundai Creta EV and Maruti e-Vitara will also be positioned as direct rivals of Harrier EV.
