The indigenous automaker announced an ambitious mid-term plan, which includes the launch of 30 new passenger vehicles including seven all-new nameplates. While the Tata Sierra has already arrived in the market, the Tata Avinya, the brand’s premium EV sub-brand, is scheduled to debut in late 2026. The new-generation Tata Nexon, Harrier (codenamed Taurus) and Safari (codenamed Leo) are expected to launch sometime in 2027.
Tata Motors is also working on a rugged, lifestyle SUV called the Tata Scarlet. Measuring under 4-meters in length, the micro SUV is expected to share design elements with the Sierra. The Scarlet will be followed by two new compact EVs, internally codenamed – Kuno and Terra.
The Nexon is likely to receive a generational upgrade in 2027. Internally codenamed ‘Garud’, the next-generation model is expected to come with significantly improved styling, a more premium interior and a new platform. The engine options, however, are expected to remain unchanged.
As of now, Tata Motors has not revealed official details yet. However, the 2027 Tata Nexon could derive some design elements from the Tata Curvv, and come with advanced features such as a Level 1 ADAS suite.
