The Safari accommodates seven passengers with ease Improved safety provides more airbags and monitoring of driver alertness It comes with ventilated second-row seats and best-in-class JBL audio
Tata Motors has become extremely aggressive in the Indian SUV segment, especially with its impressive model - the Safari and the Harrier. Both are highly feature-loaded SUVs, though some exclusive elements are a plus in the Tata Safari and not in the Harrier. Let's take a close look at the top 10 features that make Tata Safari better than Harrier.
One of its most prominent features is the three-row seating arrangement, which can seat seven passengers comfortably. This makes it a perfect gift for families, groups of friends who plan to travel with more companions often, and anyone who travels with a group regularly. The Harrier is a five-seater only, so there is no increase in its potential passenger-carrying capacity.
One feature that the Safari carries is a panoramic sunroof. It brings much more airiness to the cabin and lets natural light into it. This leaves you with an excellent view of the sky above. The Harrier offers a voice-assisted panoramic sunroof, but again, it cannot compare with the spaciousness being experienced here in Safari.
The Tata Safari boasts numerous drive modes, so it is suited to excursions on most terrains. The car is made for such purposes as optimized performance on different grounds, smooth highways, or tough off-roading trails. Not so with the Harrier, which standardizes the driving experience without such special options.
Sometimes, parking and manoeuvring around in cramped spaces is challenging but is made easy by the presence of the Tata Safari's 360-degree surround view camera, giving one a bird's eye view around for safe and confident navigation. In comparison, Harrier does not offer this, and when it comes to city driving and parking, this is a substantial advantage.
Comfort is the word for long journeys, and Tata Safari has every single passenger comfortable with its vented second-row seats. Such a feature helps keep the passengers cool in hot weather while driving long distances, and it makes driving much more fun. The Harrier comes with only front-ventilated seats; therefore, the rear passengers miss this luxury.
There, the Tata Safari treats audiophiles to its 12-speaker JBL audio system and crystal-like quality sound. This soundscape system is, quite understandably, doing a great deal to enhance the in-cabin entertainment, so long drives are much more enjoyable. The Harrier sports a decent in-car audio system but only offers 10 speakers, so the Safari's setup might be better for music lovers.
Charging your devices during long drives is a must, and the Tata Safari provides this with a wireless charging pad that also has cooling capability. The design innovation prevents overheating while your devices are being charged. This even puts the Harrier at a disadvantage when it comes to having wireless charging capabilities without cooling capability Safari will take the prize on this score if tech-savviness is your priority.
No car is ever safe, but the Tata Safari builds on this basis by developing a driver drowsiness detection feature. This system tracks a driver's behavior and advises him to take necessary breaks if there is a possibility of such an attack from the driver. This feature comes in very handy while taking long journeys. The Harrier lacks this novel safety technology.
Safety is not compromised at all, and a new configuration of airbags along with the driver's knee airbag adds protection in the event of an accident. That is something that adds more layers to prevent any kind of harm in the case of an accident. Though the Harrier does have airbags, it still doesn't give the full protection that is promised by the Tata Safari.
For off-road enthusiasts, the Tata Safari will provide a four-wheel drive option. That will allow more traction and control of challenging terrains. It is best suited for adventure lovers who require cars capable of withstanding rough conditions. The Harrier only has a two-wheel drive configuration, making it quite limited as far as its off-road features are concerned.
Therefore, even though the Tata Safari and the Tata Harrier are equally good cars, the former has some features that give it exclusivity, setting it apart. These include its three-row seating and panoramic sunroof, advanced safety systems, and enhanced comfort options, amongst others, designed for either a family or even adventure-seekers. If you want an SUV that bundles convenience, comfort, and new-age technology, you should consider the Tata Safari.
