Tata Sierra and Altroz EV Launch Details Out

Tata Motors is all set to introduce a wide range of electric cars in the Indian market over the period of next 1 year. We reported earlier that Tata will introduce the Harrier EV and Safari EV in the market in the first half of 2025. What's interesting is that the company will also introduce the much-anticipated Sierra EV in our market before the end of FY26, most probably in late 2025.

For people not in the know, Tata Motors had showcased the Altroz EV at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. In fact, the electric hatchback made its public debut in India at the 2020 Auto Expo. It was supposed to be the brand's first electric vehicle in our market, that didn't happen. In the meantime, the homegrown automaker introduced the Tiago EV, Tigor EV, Nexon EV and the Curvv EV

Interestingly, Tata Motors is planning to launch the electric derivative of the Altroz hatchback in the country sometime in 2025. The brand's new Acti.ev architecture will play a vital role in the development of new breed of EVs in India. The Punch EV and Curvv EV are based on this architecture. Adding to it, the Harrier EV, Sierra EV and the new Altroz EV will also be developed on the same Acti.ev platform.

The Harrier EV is expected to be unveiled at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show in the production form. Its launch is expected in the first quarter of next year. On the other side, the new Tata Sierra will arrive in the end of 2025. Similarly, the Tata Altroz EV is also expected to be launched during festive season before Diwali.

The Altroz EV is likely to share its battery pack and electric motor with the Punch EV. The micro SUV is offered with two battery packs - 25kWH and 35kWh - offering an ARAI certified range of 315km and 421km, respectively.

The Tata Sierra EV, on the other side, will come with a dual-motor AWD setup. This setup will also be offered on the Harrier EV. It is likely to be packed with a battery pack of around 60kWh to 80kWh. The electric SUV could offer a certified range of over 500kms on a single charge.
