Tata Motors to launch Harrier EV in first quarter of 2025 Punch facelift and Safari EV coming next year Tata to enter lifestyle SUV category with Sierra EV
Tata Motors will launch the much-awaited Curvv EV in the country on August 7, 2024. The company will also introduce the ICE version of the SUV Coupe with prices expected to be revealed in the first week of September 2024. Moreover, the company plans to introduce 4 more SUVs in the country in the next 18 months. Let's discuss about the upcoming new Tata SUVs in detail -

The next Tata Motors SUV to be launched in our market is the new Harrier EV, which first debuted in concept avatar at the 2023 Auto Expo. In fact, the close to production model was showcased to the public at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Show. If reports are to be believed, Tata Harrier EV will go on sale by March 2025.
The styling of the upcoming Tata Harrier EV will be slightly different from its ICE counterpart. It will receive newly styled bumpers, a closed-off front grille and new alloy wheels. The revised central air intake will come with blanked-off panel, ED badged on the fenders, flush door handles and revised tail-lamps connected via a new LED light bar.
It will be based on the Acti.ev platform, which also underpin the Punch.ev. The cabin will have similarities with the Curvv EV, featuring a large touchscreen, rotary dials for selecting drive modes and a touch-panel for air-conditioning. It will also receive an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS). We expect the new model to receive a 60kWh battery pack with dual-motor setup, and an expected range of up to 500-600km.
Similar to the Harrier EV, Tata Safari will also receive an electric version in the country in 2025. The new model will come with design changes in-line with the new Harrier electric. Moreover, the cabin will have more features and better quality fit and finish. The Safari EV will be the third model to be based on the Acti.ev platform. It is likely to receive a 60kWh to 80kWh battery pack with front-mounted electric motor. Similar to the Harrier EV, the Safari EV will also receive a dual-motor AWD setup.
Tata Motors is preparing the Punch facelift that has been spotted testing multiple times on the Indian roads. If reports are to be believed, the new model will arrive in our market in 2025. The Tata Punch facelift will come with design and interior changes in-line with the new Nexon and Punch EV.
It will share some of the features from the Punch EV including a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a 10.25-inch fully digital driver display, a 360-degree surround view camera with blind spot monitoring, and a 2-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo. The micro SUV could also receive leatherette seats with a ventilation function. The Punch facelift will receive a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine with 5-speed manual and an AMT unit.

Tata Motors will enter the lifestyle SUV category in FY26, most probably by the end of 2025. The company will re-introduce the iconic Sierra nameplate, which will first come with an electric powertrain. It will also come with an ICE version, which is likely to receive a 1.5L turbo petrol and a 2.0L turbo-diesel.
The Sierra EV is expected to be offered in two seating configurations - the 5-seater and 4-seater lounge. The latter will have two electrically adjustable independent seats at the back. It is likely to receive premium features including ADAS, ambient mood lighting, a digital instrument console and an electric sunroof. It will be based on the Acti.ev platform. The new model could receive a battery pack of around 80kWh capacity and dual electric motors for AWD setup.
