In the next couple of months, a total of 6 new important new cars will be launched in the Indian market. While Maruti Suzuki will introduce the new generation Dzire compact sedan, Kia will launch 2 new premium utility vehicles in the first week of October 2024. The long-awaited Kia EV9 flagship electric SUV is scheduled to be launched in our market on October 3, 2024. The company will introduce the top-spec EV9 GT-Line variant, which is packed with a 99.8kWh battery pack. It comes with two electric motors, offering an All-Wheel-Drive setup. The combined power and torque output stands at 378bhp and 700Nm, respectively. It is claimed to offer an impressive range of up to 500km on a single charge.
The e-SUV also supports fast charging, as the battery can be charged from 10-80% in just 24 minutes using the 350kW DC fast charger. It also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality. The Kia EV9 is built on the same E-GMP skateboard architecture that underpins the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6.
In terms of features, the e-SUV gets dual 12.3-inch screens for infotainment & instrument console, a 5.3-inch climate control display, power adjustable seats for all 3 rows, digital key, ambient lighting, separate sunroof for first & second rows, and 8-way power adjustable second-row captain seats with massage functionality. It will also get Level 2 ADAS tech with features like Lane Keep Assist, Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking and Adaptive Cruise Control.
Not just EV9, Kia India will also launch the new-gen Carnival 3-row MPV in the country on October 3, 2024. This 7-seater MPV will come as a Completely Built-Up Unit. The new model will be offered with two exterior colour options - Glacier White Pearl and Fusion Black. Kia is also offering two dual-tone interior themes - Navy and Misty Gray, and Tuscan and Umber.
In terms of features, the new MPV gets dual 12.3-inch screens for infotainment and instrument console, a dual-electric sunroofs, 3-zone climate control, Head-Up Display (HUD), 12-speaker Bose Sound System, second-row captain seats with heating, ventilation and massage function, adjustable leg support for second row, 12-way electrically adjustable driver's seat, powered tailgate, powered sliding rear doors and ADAS Level 2 Suite. For safety and security, the SUV gets all-4 disc brakes, ESC, Hill Assist Control, TPMS, VSM, rear & side parking sensors, etc.
It will be powered by a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine that produces 193bhp and 441Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via an 8-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox.
Scheduled to be launched on October 4, the Nissan Magnite facelift will receive design changes and an upgraded cabin along with new features. The new model will come with newly designed 16-inch 6-spoke dual-tone alloy wheels. In terms of styling, the compact SUV is likely to get a revised front grille with updated headlamp housings, revised front bumper, and tail-lights. Inside the cabin, the new Magnite could get a new interior colour scheme and new fabric upholstery, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a 7-inch driver's display, a single-pane sunroof, a wireless phone charger, and more.
The new Magnite will retain the existing powertrain options including a 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. The former produces 71bhp and 96Nm, while the later churns out 99bhp and 160Nm of torque. Transmission duties are handled by a 5-speed manual, an AMT and CVT.
BYD India will launch the eMAX 7 electric MPV on October 8, 2024. It will replace the existing e6 MPV in our market. While the e6 is a 5-seater electric model, the new BYD eMax 7 will come as a premium 3-row MPV. The electric model will be available with two seating options - 6-and 7-seats - with the former having captain seats in the second-row.
The silhouette of the car will remain identical to the e6 MPV; however, it will have new front design, alloy wheels and tail-lights. Inside the cabin, the electric MPV gets a bigger 12.3-inch floating touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, cruise control and electrically adjustable tailgate. The MPV offers a boot space of 652-litres. It could also receive ADAS tech along with 6 airbags, ABS with EBD and ESC as standard. The BYD e-MAX 7 is likely to receive the larger 71.8kWh battery pack. The power and torque output stands at 204bhp and 310Nm, respectively. Mercedes-Benz will launch the new E-Class Long Wheelbase or LWB in the country on October 9, 2024. Compared to the older model, the new Mercedes E-Class is 13mm taller, and 14mm longer, and the wheelbase is increased by 15mm. The new model will rival the BMW 5-Series LWB. Deliveries for the new E-Class will begin towards the end of next month, before Diwali.
The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class is available with two turbo engines including a 204hp, 2.0-litre turbo petrol and a 197hp, 2.0-litre turbo diesel. Both engines are benefited with a 48V mild hybrid system that adds another 23hp and 205Nm of torque. A 9-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox is offered as standard.
Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch the new Maruti Dzire compact sedan in the country during festive season, most probably in October or November. The new model will have a sharper front design with a flatter nose, a bigger grille and sharper LED headlamps, and new bumper. The sedan has body-coloured ORVMs with integrated blinkers, and new alloy wheels. The new model will come with a factory-fitted single-pane sunroof.
In terms of features, the sedan will get a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, an automatic AC, a semi-digital instrument console with a 4.2-inch digital MID, a 360-degree surround view camera, 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, rear parking sensors, and 3-point seatbelt. It will be powered by a new 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder Z-Series petrol engine that is good for 82bhp and 112Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and an AMT unit.
