The Korean automaker, Hyundai is set to showcase two of its important electric SUVs at the Bharat Mobility Show in January 2025. The company will introduce the long-awaited Creta EV on January 17, 2025. Adding to it, the brand's flagship model, Ioniq 9, will be put on display at the Auto Expo. While Creta EV prices are expected to be released on the same day, the Ioniq 9 will be on display by Hyundai to gauge visitors reaction.
The Creta EV will square off against the likes of the Tata Curvv EV and Mahindra BE 6, and the upcoming Maruti e Vitara, which will also make its public debut at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show. The Creta EV will be based on the ICE platform, which will be tweaked to accommodate an electric powertrain.
It is likely to receive EV-specific design changes like a closed front grille, reworked bumpers, and newly designed alloy wheels. The cabin will also receive some changes in the form of new features and slightly tweaked central console. It is likely to get a new three-spoke steering wheel, a drive selector controller near the steering column, cooled seats, electronic parking brake with auto hold function, and a 360-degree camera. The electric SUV will also receive a twin-screen setup for the infotainment and instrument cluster.
The new Creta EV is likely to get a 45kWh battery pack and a front-axle-mounted 138hp electric motor that offers 255Nm of torque. The new model is expected to offer a certified range of up to 450-500km on a single charge.
Hyundai had revealed the Ioniq 9, its new flagship SUV at the 2024 LA Motor Show. It is expected that the e-SUV will make India debut in January at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show. The Ioniq 9 is based on the E-GMP Born-EV platform, which is versatile enough to accommodate differently sized cars. The Kia EV9 and the Ioniq 5 are also based on this Born-EV architecture.
Measuring 5,060mm in length, the Hyundai Ioniq 9 is one the largest electric SUV from the Korean automaker. It is offered with 6-and 7-seater layouts. Hyundai offers massaging seats for the first and second-row passengers, while the second-row seats can rotate 180 degree to face third-row occupants when the car's stationary. Some of the features including panoramic sunroof, 12-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and 12-inch digital driver's display, 10 airbags, ADAS and others.
The Hyundai Ioniq 9 features a 110.3 kWh battery pack, which supports fast charging and supports a 350kW DC charger. It is claimed to offer WLTP range of up to 620km. The e-SUV comes with vehicle-to-load (V2L) feature. The e-SUV comes with two trims - LR RWD and LR AWD. The LR RWD comes with a 218bhp electric motor, and is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in 9.4 seconds. The LR AWD version gets an added 95hp, 225mm motor at the front. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in just 6.7 seconds.
