MG India teaser video showcases interior features and layout of the upcoming Hector Facelift; Gets multi-colour ambient lighting and 14-inch portrait infotainment unit; Expected to go on sale around the festive season.
As we inch closer towards the launch, MG Motor India has shared glimpse of the changes coming to the 2022 Hector. In a new teaser video shared on its social handles, the company revealed the new interior layout and theme to the public. Expected to debut around the festive season, the car is expected to carry minor exterior design update and significant interior changes.
As reported by us earlier, the interiors of the facelifted Hector will go through a major overhaul. Going by the teaser, the new model will get a redesigned dashboard layout along with a new soft touch leather finish for the upper section. While the steering wheel remains the same we get a new theme and design for the 7-inch drivers cockpit. The seats and the door pads are finished in a beige colour giving the overall cabin a dual-tone theme.
MG Motors has added a multi-colour ambient lighting to the new model, of which a thin strip runs across the width of the dashboard. Furthermore, the ambient lights in the foot well and door pads work well to enhance the in-cabin feeling. The centre console gets a silver finish with an aircraft-style gear knob surrounded by a plethora of physical buttons and a storage compartment upfront.
The new model will get new features on board such as electronic parking brakes, Level 2 ADAS tech that offers blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control and rear cross-traffic alert among others.
The new MG Hector will go on sale alongside the current model and utilise the same set of powertrain options. The new model is expected to demand a premium of Rs 1 to Rs 1.5 lakh for the added features.
Upon its arrival, it will continue to rival the likes of Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV 700, Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos along with the upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara in its segment.
