Maruti Suzuki has just launched the 2023 Ignis in India. The hatchback now gets an updated powertrain, added safety features, and more body colour options. The Maruti Ignis has been one of our go to recommendations if you are looking for a new small city car that has a lot of character and is just plain fun. Now, the new updates should make it even better. We take a closer look.
The Ignis last got a facelift in 2020 which saw the hatchback getting a new front grille, roof rails, restyled bumpers, and a roof spoiler. For the 2023 update, Maruti Suzuki has given no cosmetic changes except for six new monotone and two dual-tone colour schemes. This includes Nexa Blue, Glistening Grey, Silky Silver, Lucent Orange, Pearl Arctic White and Turquoise Blue. The dual-tone body colour options are Nexa Blue with Black or Grey Roof and Lucent Orange with black roof.
Inside, the Maruti Suzuki Ignis sees no change to the cabin. However, its safety features have been updated with the addition of ESP (Electronic Stability Program) and Hill-Hold Assist across all variants. The hatchback also gets twin airbags, ABS, and ISOFIX seat mounts as standard. In terms of creature comforts, it continues to offer equipment like a 7-inch infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, push-button start/stop, auto climate control, auto ORVMs, and more.

Maruti Suzuki however has updated the motor to comply with RDE (Real Driving Emission) Norms and E20 (ethanol) fuel as part of the upcoming BS6 Phase 2 Emission regulations.

MG Hector petrol variants now E20 fuel compatible; 2025 model launched with no price hike, meeting new emission norms and supporting sustainable mobility.
