Hyundai will launch Creta EV in January 2025 Next-gen Venue arriving in late 2025 Hyundai Inster EV is coming in 2026
In order to increase sales, Hyundai plans to introduce multiple products starting from EVs to ICE models in the Indian market. The company will enter into the EV space in early next year. Moreover, the existing models will also receive big updates in near future. In this news, we will discuss about the 3 upcoming Hyundai SUVs that will be launched in our market in 2025-26.
The Korean brand will launch its first electric SUV based on the Creta SUV in January 2025. Likely to be called the Hyundai Creta EV, the new model is reportedly to enter the production-line by December 2024. Production-ready model is expected to be unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Show in January 2025.
The Creta EV will retain most of its design with the regular ICE model. However, it will have some EV-specific design changes including a closed-off front grille with the charging port, new bumpers, and freshly aero-optimized alloy wheels. The dashboard layout will also receive some changes in the form of new colour treatment. This SUV gets repositioned ventilated seat buttons, an electronic parking brake, new Ioniq 5-like 3-spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters and the drive selector stalk on the steering coloumn.
It is expected to feature a 45kWh battery pack with a front-axle-mounted electric motor, which is likely to be the same as the Kona EV on sale in the global market. Power and torque output stands at 136hp and 255Nm, respectively. It is expected to offer a range of up to 450km on a single charge. Likely to cost around Rs 17 lakh to Rs 22 lakh, the new Creta EV will rival the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki eVX.

Hyundai has started working on the next-gen Venue compact SUV that has already been caught testing couple of times on the Indian roads. What's interesting is that Hyundai Venue will also receive an EV derivative, which will take on the segment-leader Tata Nexon EV. The ICE version of the next-gen Hyundai Venue is likely to arrive in our market by late 2025.
The next-gen Venue will be the first model to be manufactured at Hyundai's new Talegaon factory, which Hyundai acquired from General Motors in 2023. Internally codenamed QU2i, the new Venue is likely to enter production-line in October 2025. It will receive all-new design and interior along with several new features like ADAS Level 2 and panoramic sunroof. The ADAS Level 2 features include adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, auto high beam, lane assist and others. It will continue to be offered with the existing 1.2L NA petrol, 1.5L turbo diesel and 1.0L turbo petrol engines.

Hyundai will introduce its smallest electric SUV based on the Inster in India in 2026. The new model will be based on the E-GMP (K) platform. It will rival the likes of the Tata Punch EV and Citroen eC3. Internally called HE1i, the Hyundai Inster EV will have a longer wheelbase compared to the Casper micro SUV.
This electric SUV comes equipped with NMC battery packs with capacities of 42kWh and 49kWh, respectively. While the former offers a range of up to 300km, the Long-Range model delivers 355km range in a single charge. The India-spec model is expected to be offered with the same set of battery packs. It is likely to feature a standard 11kW charger. The small EV will receive some design changes before entering India. It is likely to get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, wireless charging unit and a single-pane sunroof. The SUV also gets ADAS and a 360-degree surround view camera.
