In a bid to regain its lost market share, Hyundai is preparing to launch at least 4 new SUVs before the end of next financial year, by March 2027. The Korean automaker will introduce 3 all-new SUVs along with a facelift of existing model. The brand’s most affordable micro SUV, the Exter will receive a major mid-life update while the Creta will enter the new-gen.
The Hyundai Exter facelift is expected to be launched by March 2026. It will continue to carry the boxy and upright design, and changes will be made to plastic parts. There will be no changes to sheet metal. The front will have revised grille and new bumper, while the rear will have minimal changes in the form of new bumper. It is likely to get new colour options.
The cabin is likely to receive major changes in the form of bigger touchscreen, an updated digital driver’s display and new connected car features. It will continue to offer six airbags, ESC and others as standard. It will continue to be offered with 1.2L petrol engine along with a CNG option. The new Exter facelift will rival the Tata Punch, which has recently received a mid-life update.

Hyundai has started testing an all-new compact SUV with boxy design on the Indian roads. It is reportedly to be an all-electric model based on the Inster EV on sale in global markets. This electric SUV will directly rival the Tata Punch EV and will sit below 4 meters in length. It will have compact and boxy design with an upright stance, flat tailgate, short overhangs and a flat roof. The new electric SUV is most likely to be manufactured at the brand’s Talegaon production facility.
The electric micro SUV is likely to measure around 3.8 meters in length with a wheelbase of around 2580mm. It is expected to be offered with two battery packs with a capacity of 42kWh and 49kWh. Both come with a front-axle-mounted electric motor. It is expected to offer a certified range of up to 500km in a single charge.

Hyundai has started testing the next-gen Creta SUV in South Korea. Expected to be launched in late 2026 or early 2027, the new Hyundai Creta will grow in size and will come with a hybrid powertrain. The new model will be based on the K3 platform that underpins the new Kia Seltos. It will offer more space inside the cabin, premium material and segment-leading comfort and convenience features.
The new Hyundai Creta will have a boxy design with an upright stance. It will get a new strong hybrid engine, which is likely to use the 1.5L NA petrol engine. The SUV will take on the likes of the Kia Seltos, Tata Sierra, Renault Duster and Maruti Grand Vitara. Other engine choices will include the 1.5L NA petrol, 1.5L turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo diesel. All three engines will come with manual and automatic gearbox choices.
Hyundai has started testing the new Bayon crossover in South Korea and Europe. The new model is also likely to be launched in our market as a direct challenger to the Maruti Fronx. Codenamed BC4i CUB, the new-gen Bayon for India will be a sub-4 meter model. The SUV will have a cabin similar to the new Venue SUV, featuring a twin display comprising a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and a 12.3-inch driver’s display. It is likely to be offered with a 1.2L NA petrol and a 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine. The company is also working on a new 1.2L turbo petrol engine, which will be hybrid ready.
