Hyundai to reveal next-gen Bayon in late 2026 India launch expected in Q1, 2027 New Hyundai Bayon to grow in size
We informed you earlier that Hyundai is preparing the next-generation Bayon SUV, which will also go on sale in India before the end of this financial year. The SUV has been caught testing multiple times in India as well as in select international markets. The new Hyundai Bayon is expected to be revealed before the end of 2026, while sales could begin in Q1, 2027.
The new-generation Hyundai Bayon will grow in size, and is expected to measure around 4.2 meters in length. It will sit right between the Venue and the Creta, which will enter the third generation in 2027. In the new avatar, the new compact SUV will be a boxier, and will carry a more upscale look.

Carscoops released new set of renderings based on the spy images of the new Bayon. It carries a traditional SUV look rather than a lifted hatchback. While the size will be around 4.2 meters long, the overall shape of the new model has gone boxy, angular and upright. The front has a full-width LED lighter and vertically stacked headlamps.
The new-gen Bayon comes with an upright greenhouse with blacked-out A-pillars, a flatter roofline, and curved front and rear fenders with black wheelarch cladding. The rear lighting mimics the front, featuring slim full-width LED strips by vertical elements at each corner. There is a more upright tailgate, which will help Hyundai to increase boot space.
The cabin layout is expected to be similar to other new-gen Hyundai models. It is likely to get a curved panoramic display housing a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and a 12.3-inch digital instrument console. Hyundai is also expected to add physical buttons for multiple functions. It is early to comment whether the new model will get Hyundai’s latest Pleos Connect operating architecture. The new infotainment unit will come with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and will get over-the-air updates and other connected services.
Other key features could include a heads-up display, wireless smartphone charging, ambient lighting, digital key entry and a suite of LEVEL-2 advanced driver assistance system.
The Bayon will be based on the updated version of Hyundai’s K-platform architecture. The current model secured 4-star Euro NCAP rating, and with improved structural rigidity, the new model is expected to receive higher crash test rating. It will continue to feature MacPherson struts up front and a torsion-beam rear axle.
The current Bayon is powered by a 1.0L 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 99hp. It is reported that the new SUV could get a new 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system to meet the stringent European emissions regulations. A full hybrid version of the new Hyundai Bayon is also under development. The hybrid version is expected to produce around 140 hp.
