All-new Hyundai i20 gets radical design and tech upgrades. New K3 platform, ADAS features and turbo petrol engine options.
The fourth-generation Hyundai i20 has finally been launched in Brazil. Positioned between the HB20 and Creta, the hatchback’s all-new model receives radical design changes along with significant feature and tech enhancements. In Brazil, the 2027 Hyundai i20 lineup in five trims – Comfort, Limited, X Line, Platinum and Ultimate – priced between BRL 99,990 – BRL 139,990. As of now, there is no official word on its India launch timeline.

The 2027 Hyundai i20 features a sharper hexagonal grille with new detailing, dual-pod pixel-styled LED headlamps, a light strip connecting the Y-shaped DRLs, revised bumper with a honeycomb pattern and a black finish on the lower section, pronounced bonnet with a brushed-aluminium Hyundai logo and halogen turn indicators. The hatchback also features a front-mounted radar sensor for the ADAS suite.
Other design highlights include new 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, sleeker ORVMs, thick black cladding on the wheel arches and lower section of the doors, a black shark-fin antenna, C-shaped LED taillamps connected through a slim light strip, a faux silver diffuser and black rear bumper with a reflector on both sides.
Dimensionally, the 2027 Hyundai i20 measures 4,130mm in length and 1,780mm in width, while the wheelbase stands at 2,580mm. It offers a boot space of 346-litres. The hatchback has also switched to the new K3 platform that’s claimed to provide improved structural rigidity and crash protection.

Significant upgrades have been made inside the cabin as well. The 2027 Hyundai i20 offers a newly-designed dashboard featuring dual 12.3-inch screens for the infotainment and instrumental functionalities. The Brazil-spec i20 offers OTA (over-the-air) updates, an advanced multimedia system with 5G connectivity, wireless phone charger, USB slots at the front and rear, electronic parking brake and several other premium features.
On the safety front, the next-gen Hyundai i20 offers six airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, vehicle stability management, electronic stability control and hill start assist control. The key highlight is Hyundai’s SmartSense ADAS suite, which includes features such as forward collision avoidance assist, blind spot collision, lane following assist, lane keeping assist, leading vehicle departure alert and intelligent speed limit assist.

The Brazil-spec 2027 Hyundai i20 is available with a 1.0L TGDi flex three-cylinder engine paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. This direct-injection motor pushes out a maximum power of 115bhp and 172Nm of torque. The hatchback can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 11.7 seconds and offers a top speed of 184kmpl.
In India, the all-new i20 is likely to be offered with the existing 84bhp, 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol and 120bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol engine options. Reports suggest that Hyundai might introduce its all-new 1.2L turbo petrol engine in the fourth-generation i20 lineup. This new TGDi is expected to make debut in the upcoming Hyundai Bayon compact SUV during the second half of this year.
