New Hyundai i20 leaked ahead of official debut in coming weeks India launch expected in 2027 Gets more modern interior, connected screens
The all-new Hyundai i20 hatchback has been fully revealed in leaked images on the INTERNET. This comes in the middle of Hyundai Motor Brasil teaser campaign for the highly anticipated hatchback. The teasers reveal its sharp, high-tech front headlight signature, tail-lights and renewed Hyundai logo. Ahead of the official reveal, the new-gen i20 has been fully revealed showing its more assertive, angular and premium stance.

We reported earlier that Hyundai has fast paced the development of the new i20 hatchback. In fact, the hatchback has been spotted testing wearing production-ready body panels. It has undergone low-temperature testing environments in Scandinavia. The global model is expected to be revealed in the coming weeks, most probably during the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The new i20 will come as a more modern alternative to the likes of the Volkswagen Polo and Renault Clio in international markets. In India, it will take on the Tata Altroz and Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
The next-generation i20 hatchback will come with radical design, receiving comprehensive visual and structural changes to meet the stricter global standards and changing customers requirements.
The hatchback adopts the brand’s latest design philosophy, featuring clean sheet metal and aggressive front and rear styling. It is clearly visible that the new Hyundai i20 features the traditional hatchback versatility along with robust, crossover-inspired design traits. The hatchback offers a slightly raised ride height and offers a rugged, yet urban-friendly look.
At the front, the hatchback gets slimmer headlamps embossed into a wider black strip, and split air intake on the lower bumper. It comes with squared-off proportions, chunky body cladding and cleaner front face. The side profile has sharp body creases, new alloy designs, and blacked-out pillars. At the back, the hatchback gets connected LED tail-lamps, and prominent bumper.

The new Hyundai i20 comes with a completely new cabin, featuring a new dashboard layout dominated by a large connected display. It is likely to get a dual 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and digital instrument cluster. Good thing is that the new i20 retains the physical buttons for key functions. The centre console design is now cleaner and more modern.
The steering wheel seems inspired by the global Hyundai cars. It gets a dual-tone interior scheme with circular treatment for door opening button. The hatchback continues to offer split folding seats in the second-row, which adds to its practicality. It has taller roofline and boxier proportions, which should improve the headroom and cabin space.
The 2027 Hyundai i20 is likely to be offered with the same 1.0L, 3-cylinder, turbo petrol and 1.2L, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine. Hyundai is also developing a new 1.2L turbo petrol engine, which will be hybrid ready. The same could also be offered with the new i20 and the next-gen Bayon.
