BYD has recently revealed the Sealion 5 EV which is the eighth all-electric SUV. This electric model is based on an all-new technology platform and is said to be offered in two variations. Both of these variants of the electric SUV will come with the brand's God's Eye C ADAS as the standard. Let's have a deeper look into what the design design and performance range would be.

The Sealion 5 in a plug-in hybrid form is already selling in some of the international markets. This all-electric version is much different with a connected LED headlight setup in the front, also the bumper has cameras and sensors. Below, the bumper has a wide air dam with a silver skid plate and body-colored shroud flanked by inward-leaning vertical air intakes on both sides.
The wheels of the car seem to feature a black-and-silver finish. Along with that, a portion of the D-pillar is blacked out to create a floating roof effect and the back has a long rectangular light bar with a smoked effect, illuminated BYD logo, and a roof spoiler.

The Sealion 5 EV is claimed to have a “class-leading” turning radius. The electric SUV has a rear-wheel-drive, single-motor layout with two battery pack options 50kWh and 60.9kWh.
The larger battery is expected to offer 216 bhp and a 520km claimed range and the 50kWh variant would likely produce 200 bhp and can achieve a claimed range of 430km.
The automaker has confirmed the launch of the Sealion 5 EV will launch on March 25 in China, however, the India launch is yet to be confirmed.
