BYD Sealion 7 is the next upcoming EV offering from the Chinese EV manufacturer, which made its public debut at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show. During its official unveiling, the carmaker confirmed that bookings for this electric SUV will begin from 7th March, followed by its market launch. Ahead of its arrival, the company has started dispatching the Sealion 7 across its dealerships. Recently, two units of the EV was spotted at a dealership in Bengaluru.
The BYD Sealion 7 will come in two variants – Premium and Performance, both featuring an 82.56kWh battery. The Premium trim, with a single electric motor, delivers power worth 313PS and 380Nm of torque while promising a claimed range of 567km. The Performance variant, with the dual motor setup, offers a claimed range of 542km. It produces a massive power of 530PS and 690Nm of torque. The battery pack takes just 24 minutes to get charge from 10 to 80 percent using a DC fast charger.

Dimensionally, the new BYD electric SUV measures 4,830 mm in length 1,925 mm in width and 1,620 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,930 mm and offers a boot space of 520 litres. The EV features a blanked-off grille, a front bumper with sharp creases and headlamps similar to the Seal EV. The 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels come as standard, while the 20-inch alloys are optional. The side profile has also been adorned by pronounced wheel arches with black cladding running across its length, flush-type door handles and a tapered roofline. The SUV has a sporty black bumper at the rear with a black section housing rear fog lamps. It also has LED taillamps connected to pixel design elements.
The BYD Sealion 7 has a premium cabin with white leatherette upholstery and gloss black panels running across its dashboard. Similar to the Seal EV, it has a 15.6-inch rotatable touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display along with a 4-spoke steering wheel with heated grips and mounted controls. The centre console has buttons for drive and terrain modes, a drive selector knob and, two cupholders. For the comfort of rear passengers, the EV has AC vents and a centre armrest. All seats have adjustable headrests and three-point seatbelts.
Some of its other notable features are a 12-speaker Dynaudio sound system, HUD (head-up display), a panoramic glass roof, dual-zone auto AC, ventilated and heated front seats with electrical adjustment, wireless phone charger, V2L (vehicle-to-load), a 360-degree camera, Isofix child seat mounts, 11 airbags, front and rear parking sensors, ADAS suite and tyre pressure monitoring system.
