In a big announcement, MG Motor India reveals that the soon-to-be-launched MG Windsor EV will be gifted to every Olympic medalist from Team India. The announcement comes from Sajjan Jindal, the Chairman & Managing Director of JSW Group in a X post. For people not in the know, SAIC (MG's parent company) and JSW Group joined hands to grow MG's business in the Indian market.
With this gesture, the Joint Venture wants to honour the athletes that made us proud at the ongoing Paris 2024 Olympics. Team India has already won 3 Bronze medals and is expected to earn more medals in the coming events.

MG Motor India has officially announced that its upcoming compact crossover EV will be called the MG Windsor. The crossover name is inspired by Windsor Castle in England. It is basically the re-badged version of the Wuling Cloud EV, which is on sale in Indonesia.
The new MG Windsor EV is reportedly to be launched in the first week of September, 2024. To be positioned between the Comet EV and the ZS EV, the new Windsor EV is expected to be priced under Rs 20 lakh.

The MG Windsor EV is expected to share the battery pack and electric motor with the Wuling Cloud EV. It gets a front-axle mounted electric motor, which draws power from the 50.6kWh lithium phosphate battery pack. The motor is rated at 134bhp and offers a peak torque of 200Nm. It is expected to offer an electric range of up to 460km on a single charge. The crossover supports both AC home charging and DC fast charging.
Some of the key features on offer includes a panoramic sunroof, auto AC, a digital instrument console and a segment-largest 15.6-inch floating touchscreen infotainment unit, and a 360-degree surround view camera. It will also have an ADAS suite with features like adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane assist, high-beam assist and others. Other safety features include 4 airbags, ABS with EBD & brake assist, ESC, electric parking brake with auto hold function, hill hold control, TPMS and rear parking sensor.
