Hyundai Bayon Gets 17-inch Wheels; Tail-Light and Headlamp Design Revealed
Hyundai Bayon launch likely in October 2026 It will get 17-inch alloys wrapped in 215/55 section tyres
Hyundai has released a fresh set of teaser videos for the upcoming Hyundai Bayon, giving us a closer look at its lighting setup alloy wheels and key design details ahead of its market debut. It will be positioned between the Venue and Creta in Hyundai’s portfolio. The new midsize SUV will measure over 4 meters in length, and features Hyundai’s ‘Art of Steel’ design philosophy.
Bayon Key Design Highlights - Teasers
H-Edge Lighting Signature: the headlamp setup features a thin horizontal white light bar paired with a vertical outer element integrated inside a dark surround. At the back, the SUV gets slim LED tail-lamp extending into vertical ends and connected by a black tailgate trim panel.
17-inch Alloys: the teaser showcases a multi-spoke alloy wheels with a dual-tone machined silver and black finish. The alloys are wrapped in 215/55 R17 section tyres.
Key Design Elements: It comes with prominent black wheel arch cladding surrounding the 17-inch alloy wheels, extending into the side sills and lower bumper region. Also visible are the parking sensors integrated into the black cladding.
Over 4 meters: the new Bayon is expected to measure around 4.2-4.3 meters in length, which will make it a direct rival the Maruti Victoris, Skoda Kushaq and others in the category. The next-gen Creta will grow in size, and is expected to measure closer to 4.5 meters, leaving enough space to offer yet another midsize SUV below it.
Key Features
The design sketches reveal that the new Hyundai Bayon gets the same next-gen i20 interior layout, featuring a horizontal dashboard layout. It will get dual integrated displays, a four-dot steering wheel, an electric sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, automatic climate control and others.
Engine Options
The all-new Hyundai Bayon is likely to be powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine that also powers the Creta and Verna. This engine churns out 114bhp of power and 144Nm of torque. Transmission choices likely to include a 6-speed manual and a CVT. It will be the first Hyundai over 4 meters to feature a factory-fitted CNG option. In fact, the midsize SUV is rumoured to be equipped with an underbody CNG tank.
