Syros Revealed Live
Kia Syros bookings to open from 3rd January 2025, while deliveries are being promised from February onwards. Prices of the SUV are most likely to be revealed on the first day of Bharat Mobility Show, that's January 17, 2025.
The new Syros comes with segment-first slidable and reclined second-row seats. Adding to it, the Kia Syros is the first car in the sub-4 meter SUV category to offer ventilated seats in both front and second-row.
ADAS features include forward collision avoidance assist, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitor and others. It also gets 20+ standard safety features such as 6 airbags, hill launch assist, ESP, traction control and others.
The new Ka Syros comes equipped with a new aircraft throttle-like gear shifter, push-button start/stop system, new 2-spoke steering wheel with controls for drive and terrain modes, ADAS modes and music system, a wireless charging pad, panoramic sunroof and others.
ADAS LEVEL 2 with 16 autonomous features
1.0L turbo petrol engine with manual gearbox for sporty performance
Kia Connect 2.0 with real-time OTA updates
The leaked info reveals that the new Kia Syros will come with LEVEL 2 ADAS, front parking sensors, a 360-degree surround view camera, two-spoke steering wheel, panoramic sunroof and bigger alloy wheels. It is expected that the SUV will have powered front seats with ventilation, second-row seats with recline and ventilation function, and 12.3-inch screens for multi-media and instrumentation.
As per leaked info, the Kia Syros will sit below 4 meters in length; however, it will have longer wheelbase and bigger boot space than the Sonet. The SUV measures 3,995mm in length, 1800mm in width and 1,665mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,550mm. It offers a boot space of 465-litres, which is one of the biggest in its category.
In fact, the Syros offers more boot space than the Seltos, which has a luggage carrying capacity of 433-litres. Adding to it, the SUV is 20mm taller than the mid-sized SUV, ensuring more space and airy feel in the second-row.
The new Syros will come with premium interior, which will give it a competitive advantage over rivals. This sub-4 meter SUV will have a layered dashboard, which houses a big screen to incorporate a large touchscreen infotainment unit and a digital driver's display. If reports are to be believed, the SUV could get segment-largest 12.3-inch multimedia unit and a 12.3-inch digital driver's display. However, a possibility of a 10.25-inch touchscreen unit and a 10.25-inch instrument console can't be ignored. It will offer features like a two-spoke steering wheel, ambient lighting, ventilated seats, powered front seats, connected car tech, a panoramic sunroof and many more.
The teasers reveal that the Kia Syros will come with a boxy, rugged design, which we have seen on bigger Kia's including EV9 and Telluride. The front fascia will have bigger, and aggressive-looking Tiger-nose grille, and cube-shaped LED headlamps with DRLs, which are stacked vertically, and appears identical to the ones offered in the latest Carnival.
The Kia Syros comes with van-like silhouette with plain surfaces and a blacked-out C-pillars, squared-off wheel arches and muscular roof rails. The teaser also confirms that the lifestyle SUV gets flush-mounted door handles. The rear has L-shaped tail-lights, which seems not connected via LED bar. The SUV gets rectangular shaped glass area for second-row doors, which should offer an airy feel to passengers sitting in the second-row.
The teasers reveal that the new Kia Syros will be equipped with several high-end features, which are not even offered in the mid-sized SUVs on sale in India. The SUV will come with a panoramic sunroof, LEVEL 2 ADAS, 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake, powered front seats with ventilation, front parking sensors and others. In fact, the SUV offers boot space bigger than segment-above cars including Seltos and Taigun.
The new Syros will be Kia's second sub-4 meter SUV and will come as a premium lifestyle SUV to cater to wide audience. To be positioned between the Sonet and Seltos, the Kia Syros is expected to be launched in the country on January 17, 2024 on the first day of Bharat Mobility Show. The new model is expected to be priced somewhere around Rs 8.5 lakh to Rs 15 lakh, that's right between the Sonet and Seltos. This could lead to cannibalization, as Sonet buyers could move towards Syros. It will rival the likes of the Skoda Kylaq, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Tata Nexon and Maruti Brezza.
As per leaked info, the new Kia Syros will come in eight exterior paint schemes including Blue, Pewter, Olive, Red, Black Pearl, Grey, Blue, White and Silver. It will come in six trim levels - HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX, HTX+, and HTX+ (O). Some of the design highlights include blacked-out C-pillar, boxy design, flat roof, usable roof rails, squared-off wheel arches and others. The teasers also confirm that the new Syros will come with flush-fitting door handles.
The Kia Syros will be the brand's first model to adorn Design 2.0 philosophy under KIA 2.0 strategy. Multiple teasers confirm that the styling of the new Syros is heavily inspired from Kia's flagship SUVs including the EV9 and the Telluride. It is more like a mix of SUV and MPV, offering practicality of MPV and rugged, sporty looks of an SUV.
It is likely to be offered with two engine options - a 114bhp, 1.5-litre turbo diesel and a 118bhp, 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol. Transmission choices likely to include a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed DCT and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
