Kia is believed to be working on a new compact SUV for India, and it could bring several upgrades over the current Sonet. The upcoming model is expected to be slightly bigger, feature a refreshed design, and come with more premium features inside the cabin.

If launched, the SUV could offer more space while retaining the compact size that has made the Sonet popular in India.

Bigger Size With a Fresh Design

The new Kia Sonet is expected to grow slightly in size compared to the current model. It could feature a longer body, a stretched roofline, and a larger rear section, helping create more cabin space. The SUV is also expected to get a new front design with updated LED lighting, redesigned bumpers, roof rails, and new alloy wheels. At the rear, Kia could introduce new LED tail-lamps along with a revised tailgate design for a more modern look.

Premium Cabin Expected

The cabin is also likely to receive several updates. Expected features include dual digital displays, a panoramic sunroof, connected car technology, a 360-degree camera, wireless smartphone connectivity, and automatic climate control. Level 2 ADAS Could Be Offered

One of the biggest upgrades could be the addition of Level 2 ADAS. The safety package may include features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane departure warning. If introduced, it would make the Sonet one of the most feature-rich SUVs in its segment.

Familiar Engine Options

Kia is expected to continue offering the same engine options with the updated model. These could include a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, and 1.5-litre diesel engine. Transmission options are likely to include manual, iMT, automatic, and dual-clutch automatic gearboxes.

Launch Timeline

Kia has not officially confirmed the launch of the new Sonet yet. However, development appears to be underway, and more details are expected in the coming months.
