Lexus India has confirmed their arrival at the Delhi Auto Expo 2023 in Greater Noida by releasing their first teaser for the New-Gen RX and an all-new electric SUV. The New Generation RX model is a replacement for its existing SUV while the RZ450e is an all-new first EV which is based on a dedicated electric platform.

The New RX model from Lexus seems to be premium with its sculpted body lines and a rounded design. According to Lexus, the New RX will offer two of its variants. Since the current generation is offered with 450hL trim, the two variants of the new Lexus RX are expected to be the 350h and 450+. While the 350h is a self-charging hybrid, the 450h+ is a plug-in hybrid SUV that can run up to 64 kms on electric charge alone.

Talking about the interior layout, the new SUV has a redesigned look. It offers a minimalist cabin with a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment, Heads-Up Display (HUD), three-zone climate control, and ventilated seats. The model is likely to feature the latest Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 Suite of ADAS technology which includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward-Collision Avoidance with Pedestrian Detection, Lane-Keeping Assist, and more.
The price of this 5th-Generation SUV is likely to be higher than the existing vehicle which costs Rs 1.11 crore (ex-showroom). However, its lower-spec trim will probably bring down the entry-level price (if introduced).

Lexus RZ 450e is based on the e-TNGA platform that is also shared with the Toyota bZ4X. The RZ 450e is an all-wheel drive e-SUV with a 307 bhp drivetrain. The model gets a 71.4 kWh battery which offers a range of up to 400 kms. By using the 150 kW fast charger, one can charge RZ 450e to 80 percent in just 25 minutes.

The model is made from environmentally conscious materials and offers advanced technologies such as steer-by-wire and an e-latch that does not let the door open if the vehicle is approaching in the blind spot.

As of now, Lexus India has not revealed the delivery timing and variant details of the SUVs, but both these models will be showcased at the upcoming Delhi Auto Expo 2023. As reported, the new Lexus RX will rival the Audi Q7, BMW X5, Mercedes GLE, and Volvo XC90 whereas the RZ 45e model will compete with Jaguar I-Pace, BMW iX, and Mercedes EQC.
