The Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e, the all-new born-electric SUVs from the indigenous automaker, recently made their global debut in India. Prices for their entry-level Pack One variants have been announced at ₹ 18.90 lakh and ₹ 21.90 lakh, respectively. The full price list for both EVs will be revealed during their public debut at the Bharat Mobility Show in January 2025. The new Mahindra electric SUVs retain most of the design elements and features from their concepts, which were unveiled last year.
Both EVs are offered with two battery pack options: 59kWh and 79kWh, utilizing LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) cells. These benefit from BYD’s renowned Blade cell technology, marketed as a "compact three-in-one powertrain," and come with three drive modes—Range, Everyday, and Race—along with an additional Boost mode. A rear-wheel drive (RWD) system is standard.
The Mahindra BE 6e SUV’s smaller battery pack delivers a claimed output of 228bhp, while the larger battery offers 281bhp. Both variants produce 380Nm of torque.
The BE 6e with the 79kWh battery pack accelerates from 0 to 100kmph in 6.7 seconds and offers an ARAI-certified range of 682km or a WLTP range of 550km. The 59kWh battery provides an ARAI-certified range of 535km.
Charging options include standard 11.2kW AC and 7.3kW AC chargers, which can charge the 59kWh and 79kWh batteries from 0 to 100 percent in 6–8 hours and 8.7–11.7 hours, respectively. Using a 175kW DC fast charger, the batteries can be charged from 20 to 80 percent in just 20 minutes. Mahindra is also offering a lifetime warranty on the battery packs.
