2026 Mahindra Thar facelift test mules spotted with Roxx-inspired styling. Level 2 ADAS, ventilated seats, and wireless charging could debut with the Thar facelift 2026. Powertrain options for the Mahindra Thar facelift remain the same as current models.
Mahindra’s popular SUV, the 2026 Mahindra Thar facelift, has been spotted testing with new styling cues inspired by the Roxx. While the Thar received multiple updates in its 2025 version, the facelift is expected to bring further refinements to both design and features. Recently shared spy shots of the Thar facelift (3-door) give us a closer look at what to expect.

At the front, the 2026 Mahindra Thar facelift appears to borrow heavily from the Roxx. Unlike the existing model with recessed circular headlamps, the facelift features circular headlamps that sit flush with the grille. C-shaped LED DRLs add a modern touch, while the grille and bumper maintain a rugged yet refined appearance.
The side profile remains largely unchanged, but the facelift could adopt 19-inch alloy wheels from the Roxx, a step up from the 16- and 18-inch wheels currently offered.

At the rear, the taillamps also resemble the Roxx units, offering more distinctive detailing and a dynamic look. The test mule features a Galaxy Grey colour, though Mahindra may introduce additional shades with the facelift.

The 2026 Thar facelift is expected to build on the 2025 model’s upgrades. Key additions could include Level 2 ADAS, similar to the Roxx, designed for Indian roads. Other likely features include automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, auto-dimming IRVM, auto-folding ORVMs, and keyless entry with push-button start.
The Mahindra Thar facelift 2026 will continue with the current powertrain lineup. Diesel options include a 1.5-litre engine generating 117 hp and 300 Nm, and a 2.2-litre engine making 130 hp and 300 Nm. The smaller diesel comes with a 6-speed manual in RWD format, while the 2.2-litre unit offers both a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic with 4WD.
Petrol variants are powered by a 2.0-litre turbo engine delivering 150 hp and 300–320 Nm of torque. These offer both RWD and 4WD options, paired with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
The 2026 Mahindra Thar facelift (3-door) is likely to launch later this year. With fresh styling, new features, and reliable engines, it aims to keep the Thar tough yet more comfortable and safe for Indian buyers.
