Mahindra is all set to launch its highly anticipated electric SUV – the XEV 7e – in India by early 2026. The upcoming model is expected to be the electric version of the Mahindra XUV700, built on the brand’s INGLO EV platform.
Mahindra XEV 7e will be the production version of the XUV.e8 concept, which was showcased between 2022 and 2023. While it shares its body shape with the XUV700, the EV version will sport several EV-specific design changes.
The SUV’s design takes cues from the Mahindra XEV 9e, especially at the front. Key exterior highlights include:
- Inverted L-shaped connected LED DRLs
- Split LED headlamps placed lower on the bumper
- Aero-optimized alloy wheels
- Wraparound LED tail lamps
These elements give the XEV 7e a premium and futuristic look.
Inside, the SUV will offer a dual-tone black and white interior with a piano black finish on the centre console. A major highlight is the triple-screen dashboard, which includes:
- 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen
- 12.3-inch digital driver’s display
- Additional screen for the front passenger
The Mahindra XEV 7e is expected to offer:
- Multi-zone climate control
- 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system
- Ventilated and memory-powered front seats
- Panoramic sunroof
- Auto Park with 12 ultrasonic sensors for self-parking
Mahindra will likely equip the XEV 7e with a host of safety features, including:
- Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems)
- 7 airbags
- 360-degree camera
- Electronic parking brake with auto hold
- Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
The electric SUV is expected to come with two battery options:
- 59kWh (standard range)
- 79kWh (long range)
The larger battery could offer a claimed range of over 500 km (MIDC).
While the base variants will have a rear-mounted motor, higher trims may come with a dual-motor AWD setup. This will offer more power and torque, making it suitable for enthusiasts and light off-roading.
