Both electric SUVs have retained most of the design elements from their concepts. These will be Mahindra’s first models based on its born-electric INGLO platform. The Mahindra BE 6e will compete with the upcoming Tata Harrier EV and Safari EV. The Mahindra XEV 9e will take on the Tata Curvv EV, Hyundai Creta EV, and Maruti e-Vitara.
Here’s yet another teaser of the upcoming Mahindra electric SUVs, based on the born-electric platform – INGLO. Called the Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6e, both EVs are ready to make their global debut in production-ready avatars on 26th November 2024. The latest teasers confirm that the electric SUVs stay true to their concepts, retaining most of the design elements.

The teaser shows the aggressive stance and sharply designed front fascia of the electric SUV. The model features LED projector headlamps with vertical light signatures and LED DRLs, a wide grille, LED light strips, and an illuminated Mahindra twin-peak logo, as seen on its concept. Additionally, the pronounced squarish wheel arches with gloss-black cladding, flush door handles, and rear door handles mounted on the C-pillars appear to have been carried forward from the concept. The EV also boasts aerodynamically designed alloy wheels.
Inside, the Mahindra BE 6e features a dual-screen setup (one for infotainment and the other for instrument functionalities), a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated BE logo, a unique split center console, a panoramic sunroof, and ambient lighting.

Staying true to its concept, the Mahindra XEV 9e retains its coupe-SUV silhouette with the brand’s new design language. Up front, the EV features a wide closed-off grille, an illuminated Mahindra logo, LED light strips, LED projector headlamps with uniquely designed LED DRLs, and a pronounced hood. Other design highlights include sculpted body panels, prominent wheel arches, pop-out flush door handles, and a sleek roofline.
Unlike the BE 6e, the Mahindra XEV 9e comes with a triple-screen setup, including a touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver’s display, and a passenger display. It also includes a panoramic sunroof and a two-spoke steering wheel.
Both upcoming Mahindra electric SUVs are likely to feature a wireless phone charger, a multi-zone AC unit, ventilated and powered seats, a premium audio system, a 360-degree camera, six airbags, V2L (vehicle-to-load) capabilities, multiple regeneration modes, Level 2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system), and more.
The Mahindra BE 6e and Mahindra XEV 9e are expected to be offered with the same set of battery packs and electric motors. While the specifications are still under wraps, Mahindra previously confirmed that its born-electric SUVs will feature battery packs ranging between 60kWh and 80kWh, delivering a range of up to 500 km on a single charge. These electric SUVs will support both AWD (all-wheel drive) and RWD (rear-wheel drive) systems. The 60kWh battery pack is expected to offer a claimed range of around 450 km.
When launched, the Mahindra BE 6e will face competition from the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curvv EV, Maruti Suzuki e Grand Vitara and MG ZS EV. All its rivals are slated to hit the roads in 2025. Prices for the BE 6e are expected to start at Rs 24 lakh onwards. The Mahindra XEV 9e will compete against the Tata Harrier EV and Tata Safari EV.
