To debut the XUV.e lineup, Mahindra XUV.e8 is one of the most anticipated electric cars in Mahindra’s lineup. In essence, the upcoming SUV is an electrified XUV700 underpinned by Mahindra’s newly developed INGLO skateboard modular platform. According to multiple reports, it is slated for launch in December.
While its overall 4.7-metre silhouette looks similar to XUV700, the XUV.e8’s closed front nose establishes a clear distinction. Furthermore, the bumper ahead which houses ADAS (likely Level 2) sensors gets tiny grilles for airflow. Other notable bits include boomerang-shaped headlights, patented by Mahindra, with an LED bar. Its side profile seems to be familiar but the alloys are new. The rear profile comprises a slightly tweaked bumper but an LED row spanning the taillights is absent.
Going by previous image leaks, the XUV.e8 will have a horizontal 12.3-inch screen triplet, including a passenger-oriented screen. Earlier, its prototype featured an XUV700-inspired steering wheel but that has been replaced with a two-spoke unit. It may have an illuminated logo, something that we have seen in the Tata Harrier.
Like its ICE sister, it is expected to borrow cells used in the 80 kWh battery pack from Volkswagen. Power figures will range between 335 bhp - 389 bhp and have a range of 450 kilometres. With an in-floor battery, the INGLO platform is capable of all-wheel drive harbouring a dual motor setup.
