Maruti Suzuki has started updating its all cars by adding six airbags and new safety features. After introducing six airbags in the Celerio and Brezza, MSIL has now added six airbags in the Alto K10 line-up as standard. This is the country's smallest and most affordable car to receive six airbags as standard.
Standard - Rs 4.23 lakh
LXI - Rs 5 lakh
VXI - Rs 5.31 lakh
VXI+ - Rs 5.60 lakh
VXI AMT - Rs 5.81 lakh
LXI CNG - 5.90 lakh
VXI+ AMT - 6.10 lakh
VXI CNG - 6.21 lakh
Due to the addition of six airbags, the prices of the Maruti Alto K10 have been increased by up to Rs 16,000 depending on the variant. Maruti Suzuki has again changed the names of the variant line-up and removed the (O) suffix across the range.
The Maruti Alto K10 base Standard variant is now priced at Rs 4.23 lakh, which is 14,000 higher than the previous model. The LXI, VXI and VXI+ variants are now pricier by Rs 6,000, Rs 16,000 and Rs 10,000, respectively. The Alto K10 price in India starts at Rs 4.23 lakh and goes up to Rs 6.21 lakh (ex-showroom).
Other safety features of the Maruti Alto K10 includes rear parking sensors, luggage-retention crossbars, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with EBD, and electronic stability program (ESP). MSIL has also added 3 point seat belts for all passengers in the second-row.
The Alto K10 is powered by the same 1.0-litre 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine. This engine is E20 fuel compatible and is one of the most fuel efficient engines. Paired to either a 5-speed manual or an AMT unit, the engine produces 67hp and 89Nm of torque. In the CNG mode, the power and torque output drops to 56bhp and 82.1Nm, respectively. The CNG version is claimed to offer an ARAI certified mileage of 33.85 km/kg, while the petrol version delivers 24.39kmpl.
First launched in 2000, the Maruti Alto K10 has been one of the best-selling hatchbacks in the country. In fact, the entry-level hatchback has been the first choice among first time car buyers. MSIL has sold over 46 lakh units of the Alto in India.
