Maruti Suzuki to launch a new 7-seater Grand Vitara A new sub-4 meter Maruti Y43 SUV in the works Fronx facelift likely to debut on Maruti's hybrid engine
India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, is preparing an aggressive product lineup spanning across multiple segments over the next couple of years. To further strengthen its market dominance, Maruti plans to introduce pure electric vehicles (EVs), self-charging series-hybrids, and 3-row family movers.
From the highly-anticipated 7-seater Grand Vitara to a born-electric MPV and mass-market updates, here is a detailed breakdown of Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming lineup.
Expected Launch: Early 2027

Designed to rival the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, and Mahindra XUV 7XO, the 3-row Grand Vitara, internally codenamed Y17, will be manufactured at Maruti Suzuki’s new Kharkhoda facility in Haryana. Testing of the SUV has already been commenced. Built on the Global-C platform, the Maruti 7-seater SUV features an extended wheelbase and a stretched rear overhang to accommodate third-row seat. It will come with 6-seater (captain seats) and a 7-seater configurations.

The hybrid version will use the 1.2L 3-cylinder Z-Series engine clubbed with an electric motor and a small battery pack, This engine works as a generator to charge the onboard battery, and its electric motor will drive the wheels. The company would be aiming to offer a certified fuel efficiency of over 35kmpl.
Feature Enhancements: Similar to the Baleno facelift, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx facelift will get LEVEL 2 ADAS with features like adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane assist, auto high beam and others. The Wagon R facelift will also receive major mechanical and cosmetic design and interior changes.
Z-Series Engine: it will be powered by a new 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, Z-Series petrol engine that produces 83 hp and 112 Nm of torque. This engine is designed to deliver higher low-end torque and better fuel economy.
Underbody CNG tech: the WagonR facelift is likely to feature an underbody CNG tank to free up usable boot space. It is also expected to get modern features, including a larger touchscreen with updated connectivity options.
Expected Launch: 2027
Expected Price: Rs 6 lakh - Rs 10 lakh
Maruti Suzuki is working on an all-new sub-compact SUV, codenamed Y43, which will be positioned below the Fronx crossover. This micro SUV will rival the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter. It is expected to be based on the HEARTECT platform that also underpins the Swift, Dzire and Baleno. The micro SUV will feature an upright SUV stance, high ground clearance, and an elevated driving position. It is expected to be powered by the 1.2L Z-Series petrol and factory-fitted CNG options.
