Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch an all-new midsize SUV, rumoured to be called the Maruti Victoris (Escudo), in the country on 3rd September, 2025. It will be the new flagship model from Maruti Suzuki’s ARENA dealership network and will sit above the Brezza in the line-up.
The new Maruti Suzuki Victoris (Escudo) is reportedly to be equipped with several modern tech features, which will be first for Maruti in India. It will be the brand’s first model to feature advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) tech. The ADAS features to include autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane assist and others.
Additionally, the Maruti Victoris (Escudo) midsize SUV will also come with Dolby Atmos audio technology and powered tailgate. Similar to the Grand Vitara, the midsize SUV could also get 4WD (four-wheel drive) system. All these features are likely to be offered on the top-end variants of the Escudo.
A bigger touchscreen infotainment unit
Digital driver’s display
Automatic climate control
Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
Ventilated front seats
Powered driver’s seat
Six airbags
ESP
Traction control
The Maruti Suzuki Escudo is likely to share the engine options with the Grand Vitara midsize SUV. The engine options include a 1.5L K15C petrol with mild hybrid tech, and a Toyota-sourced 1.5L Atkinson cycle strong hybrid. The naturally-aspirated engine is also likely to come with a CNG variant.
It is reported that the new Maruti Victoris (Escudo) will be positioned between the Brezza and Grand Vitara. The SUV will be based on the same Suzuki’s Global-C platform that underpins the Grand Vitara and Brezza. Keeping high-end features in mind, MSIL could position the new SUV equivalent to the Grand Vitara.
The Brezza and Grand Vitara are offered in the price bracket of Rs 8.69 - 14.14 lakh and Rs 11.42 - 20.68 lakh, respectively. We expect the new Escudo to cost somewhere around Rs 10.5 lakh to Rs 19 lakh. The SUV will directly rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Curvv and others in the segment.
