2026 will be a major year for Mercedes-Benz India, with plans to introduce 12 new models, including some entirely new cars with no predecessors. Alongside new models, the brand will also roll out facelifts of existing popular models. Mercedes-Benz is focusing on offering a mix of Top-End Vehicles (TEVs) and new battery electric vehicles (BEVs), such as the much-anticipated CLA BEV and the debut of MB.OS, their new operating system.

Mercedes-Maybach GLS is one of the brand’s most luxurious offerings. It combines the elegance and performance of the GLS with exclusive design elements, delivering an unmatched luxury SUV experience. The EQS SUV, on the other hand, is a fully electric SUV offering cutting-edge technology and zero-emission performance. These Celebration Editions showcase the brand’s commitment to providing the best luxury experiences for its customers.
One of the most significant developments from Mercedes-Benz India is the start of local production for the Mercedes-Maybach GLS. This move is a first for the global brand, as India becomes the first market outside the USA to locally produce the ultra-luxury Maybach GLS. The Mercedes-Maybach GLS will now be manufactured at Mercedes-Benz’s Pune facility, making it more accessible to Indian customers and showcasing the company’s world-class manufacturing capabilities.
Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, highlighted that India now ranks among the top five global markets for Mercedes-Maybach. The local production of the Maybach GLS underlines the company’s deep commitment to Indian customers, offering the pinnacle of luxury SUV production in India. This move will also enhance the vehicle's appeal, catering to the growing demand for exclusive, high-end vehicles in the country.
Mercedes-Benz India’s focus on providing luxury and performance vehicles in India continues with a busy year ahead. The introduction of new vehicles and expanding their local production portfolio will strengthen their position in the luxury automotive market. The launch of MB.Charge Public, expansion into new markets, and upgrades to their entire network reflect the brand’s strategy to continue offering the best technology and experiences to Indian customers.
