MG's next electric car, the Windsor, is soon to arrive in India. It will be based on the Wuling Cloud EV, which is available on sale internationally. The India-spec model will carry most of the design and features from the global model. Even the battery pack is expected to be the same as that of Cloud EV. Curious to know about its range and charging time? Here are the details!
The British automaker, MG is yet to reveal the battery details for their third electric car. However, the Windsor is likely to share the same battery pack and range offered by the global-based version.
Considering the Cloud EV, it comes with a single battery option. Its 50.6kWh battery pack has a front-axle-mounted single electric motor. It can deliver the maximum power of 134 bhp and 200 Nm of torque.
As for the range, it offers a maximum range of 460 km on a single charge. This range is based on the China Light Duty Vehicle Test Cycle - CLTC. We expect the new model to offer a claimed range of around 500 km with a real range of over 300 km on a single charge.
The global model supports two charging options. With the AC charger, the Cloud EV can be charged from 20-100 percent in 7 hours while using the DC fast charger, it takes only 30 minutes to charge the vehicle from 30-100 percent.
MG Windsor EV is likely to be launched this year during the festive season. It will be an affordable alternative to MG ZS EV and is expected to be priced under Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon launch, it will rival the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400.
