The long-awaited MG Windsor EV will finally go on sale in the Indian market on September 11, 2024. MG Motor India has been releasing teasers of the upcoming electric CUV. This time, the company has released a new teaser that showcases a full width panoramic glass roof in the Windsor EV. This appears similar to the one offered on the Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric SUV.
The panoramic sunroof covers the roof, which would give the MG Windsor's cabin an airy feel. For people not in the know, the Windsor EV is basically the re-badged version of the Wuling Cloud EV on sale in international markets. The international-spec model misses out on this Panoramic Glass Roof feature.
The previous teaser showcases the MG Windsor EV water wading competencies. MG Claims that the electric CUV is designed to adapt and tackle diverse Indian road conditions. Another teaser reveals that the MG Windsor will come with India's first Aero-lounge seats with 35 degree recline. The crossover UV gets all-black leatherette seats with headrests for all 3 occupants in the second-row.
In terms of size and positioning, the MG Windsor EV will sit between the Comet EV and the ZS EV. The new model will be priced under Rs 20 lakh and will rival the likes of the Tata Nexon EV, Tata Curvv EV, and the Mahindra XUV400.
The new Windsor EV is likely to get a large 15.6-inch floating touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. There are minimal switchgears or buttons on the dashboard, and most of the things will be controlled using the infotainment unit.
The Windsor EV will come equipped with Level 2 ADAS suite, a 360-degree surround view camera, 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold control (HHC), electronic parking brake with auto hold function, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and others.
It is expected to be offered with a front-axle mounted electric motor, which draws power from a 50.6kWh battery pack. The combined power and torque output stands at 134bhp and 200Nm, respectively. It is expected to offer an impressive range of up to 500km on a single charge.
