Hyundai’s new MPV to rival Ertiga and Carens, launching in mid-2026. Expect Hyundai’s new MPV to offer great features and comfort at an affordable price. Hyundai’s new family car, set for India launch, will offer ample space and a smooth ride.
Hyundai is all set to launch a new MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) in India, which is expected to challenge popular models like the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Kia Carens. This new Hyundai MPV, expected to arrive by mid-2026, will offer families an affordable yet spacious option, with a focus on comfort and modern features.

The new Hyundai MPV will be a 7-seater, offering ample space and comfort for large families. Priced between ₹9.60 lakh and ₹17.00 lakh, the vehicle will directly compete with the Maruti Ertiga, Kia Carens, and other popular models in the same segment. Hyundai plans to offer a 1.5-liter petrol engine, delivering a perfect mix of power and fuel efficiency, making it a practical choice for daily commutes and long road trips.
The new Hyundai MPV could either be the Stargazer or the Staria, both of which have already been introduced in other markets. The Stargazer is a more compact, family-friendly MPV with a modern design, while the Staria offers a more premium experience with futuristic looks and features. Hyundai had showcased the Staria at the Auto Expo, and it might be the one we see in India. Both models are known for their roomy interiors and modern tech.
Hyundai is entering the MPV market to strengthen its lineup of SUVs and utility vehicles. The company aims to have over 80% of its sales come from UVs, like MPVs and SUVs, by 2030. This new MPV will be key to achieving that goal and providing Indian buyers with more options for family vehicles.
Hyundai’s roadmap for the future includes 26 new launches by 2030, with the new MPV being one of the key highlights. Along with new models, Hyundai will focus on local manufacturing, ensuring that the cars are made for Indian roads. The company also has big plans to expand its sales and service network to cover 85% of India’s districts by 2030, making its vehicles more accessible to rural and urban buyers alike.
