Up to 40,000 units have been booked for the new Swift About 83% of bookings belong to the petrol manual variants Priced between Rs 6.49 lakh to Rs 9.49 lakh (ex-showroom)
The launch of the new-gen Maruti Swift has grabbed many eyeballs. In fact, the brand has collected over 40,000 bookings from customers till now. About 19,393 units of the new Swift have been sold since its launch on May 9. Maruti claims that the latest Swift has become the best-selling car in its debut month.
According to Maruti Suzuki, about 83 percent of the total sales belong to manual transmission variants. The rest of the sales have been recorded by AMT or AGT variants of the latest Swift hatchback.
Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, "We have right now introduced the petrol variant (of the Swift), the CNG variant has not yet been introduced. 40,000 bookings just for Petrol is a very good response, and we’re seeing good traction for the Swift in the first month of launch."
Maruti Suzuki Swift is powered by the Z-Series 1.2-litre petrol engine. The 3-cylinder engine produces 80 bhp of power with 112 Nm of torque. Transmission jobs are handled by a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT.
