Nissan has officially revealed the design of its new C-SUV, which is set to be the brand’s second SUV to launch in India. Called the Nissan Tekton, the new model is a mid-sized C-segment SUV which will challenge the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Victoris and the upcoming Tata Sierra and Renault Duster. Nissan has confirmed that the new C-SUV is designed by the same team that designed the Patrol full-size SUV.

The new Nissan Tekton SUV design is inspired by the brand’s hugely popular Patrol on sale in international markets. This is also visible from the front fascia, which has a Patrol-like Trapezoidal-shaped grille with twin chrome bars running across the width. There is a new Nissan logo placed right in the centre of the chrome bar. The front grille is flanked by C-shaped signature headlamp setup, which are connected by a LED DRL.
The new Nissan Tekton SUV has a rugged styling with flatter nose with rugged lower bumper and horizontal front fender lines. At the back, the SUV gets the C-shaped LED tail-lights connected by a LED light bar. It comes with a rugged lower bumper that has strong cladding and wider air-intake.

Boxy design is clearly visible from the side profile, featuring smoother lines instead of strong creases and curves. The SUV gets flared wheel arches with strong body cladding, usable roof rails, and newly styled alloy wheels.
Nissan has officially announced that the new Tekton SUV will be launched in the country in mid-2026, most probably around July-August. The company will first introduce a new 7-seater B-MPV in Q1, 2026. Moreover, Nissan has confirmed that an all-new 7-seater SUV will arrive in our market in early 2027.
The new Nissan Tekton C-SUV will be based on Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF-B modular platform that also underpins the new Duster and Boreal SUVs. This platform will be heavily localised with components sourcing from local manufacturers. It will be manufactured at Renault’s Chennai based production facility for domestic as well as export markets.
The new Nissan Tekton SUV will initially come in petrol avatar; however, it will also get a hybrid engine at a later stage. The SUV is expected to be powered by a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine paired to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The entry-level variants could get either a 1.5L naturally-aspirated petrol or a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine.
The hybrid engine will be shared with the third-gen Renault Duster. In the global markets, the SUV gets a 1.6L hybrid powertrain. However, the India-spec model could get a different hybrid unit based on the 1.5L naturally-aspirated petrol engine.
