Nissan Tekton spotted testing again as launch gets delayed. New Nissan Tekton SUV to bring premium design and high-tech interior. Tekton likely to share engines and features with the upcoming Renault Duster.
Nissan Motor India has once again pushed back the unveiling of its much-awaited mid-size SUV, the Nissan Tekton. It launch of the Tekton was earlier expected on February 4, but the SUV did not debut as planned. This comes just a day after Nissan confirmed a revised launch date for the Gravite MPV, which is now set to arrive on February 17.
Despite the delay, fresh spy shots suggest that the new Nissan Tekton SUV is still under active testing in India.

The new Tekton was recently spotted testing near Electronic City in Bengaluru. The SUV was fully camouflaged, indicating that Nissan is still fine-tuning the final version. The test vehicle appeared to be a top-spec variant, running on large 18-inch alloy wheels with wide tyres, hinting at a strong road presence.
For Nissan, the Tekton is an important product. It marks the brand’s return to the 4.2-4.4 metre SUV segment after the Nissan Kicks was discontinued in 2023.

Nissan Tekton SUV is based on the same platform as the upcoming Renault Duster. However, Nissan is expected to give the Tekton its own identity.
Spy shots suggest a cleaner and more premium front design with connected LED DRLs. Compared to the Duster, the Tekton may get less body cladding, making it look more urban and sophisticated. The headlights and tail-lamps are likely to be unique, while some elements like fog lamps could be shared.
Inside, the Nissan Tekton interior is expected to look different from the Duster, with unique colours and dashboard textures. Feature-wise, it could be packed with modern tech, including:
- 10-inch touchscreen with Google-based OS
- 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster
- Dual-zone climate control
- Ventilated front seats
- Panoramic sunroof
- Level-2 ADAS
- 360-degree camera
This feature list would put the Tekton right up there with segment leaders.
Mechanically, the new Nissan Tekton is expected to share engines with the Duster. Likely options include:
- 1.0-litre turbo-petrol (100 PS)
- 1.3-litre turbo-petrol (163 PS)
- 1.8-litre petrol-hybrid with a small battery pack
The SUV may also offer a large boot space of up to 700 litres, a roomy cabin, and a high ground clearance of around 212 mm, making it suitable for Indian roads.
While Nissan has not shared a new official date, the Nissan Tekton launch is expected to take place sometime after the Renault Duster’s India debut. Pricing is likely to be in a similar range as well.
Once launched, the Tekton will compete with popular SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Sierra, and Maruti Suzuki Victoris, making it one of the most important launches for Nissan in India.
