Nissan India has shared mixed updates for its upcoming models. While the Nissan Gravite MPV launch is now confirmed, the much-awaited Nissan Tekton SUV has been postponed. Both models are important for Nissan’s growth plans in India, but they are now arriving on different timelines.
Nissan has officially confirmed that the Gravite MPV will be unveiled on February 17. The model was earlier scheduled to debut on January 21, but the reveal was pushed to this new date.
Nissan has also hinted that deliveries will begin from March, which means prices could be announced later this month.

Ahead of its unveiling, Nissan released a teaser showing the colour options for the Gravite. The MPV will be offered in a signature teal shade, along with white, silver, black, and grey.
Design sketches show that the Gravite gets horizontal LED DRLs integrated into the headlamp units. The front grille features a chrome slat, while bold Gravite lettering on the bonnet gives it a strong road presence.
At the rear, the MPV comes with split tail-lamps, connected by a horizontal strip across the tailgate. The centrally placed Gravite badge adds a clean and premium look.
Nissan Gravite is based on the Renault Triber platform. It is expected to use the same 1.0-litre petrol engine, paired with manual and AMT gearbox options. Nissan will share more details about features and variants closer to the launch.
While the Gravite is now locked in, Nissan has postponed the debut of the Tekton SUV. The company has not announced a new reveal date yet. This delay follows the earlier rescheduling of the Gravite.
Both the Gravite and Tekton are expected to help Nissan enter new segments and strengthen its position in the Indian market.
When launched, the Nissan Tekton will compete in the crowded mid-size SUV segment against rivals like the Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Sierra, and Maruti Suzuki Victoris.
Design highlights revealed so far include connected LED DRLs, C-shaped lighting elements, and a muscular bonnet with a hood-scoop-like design. The SUV shares its platform with the new Renault Duster.
Inside, the Tekton is expected to feature a three-tone dashboard, glossy black panels, and a bronze-coloured trim running across the dashboard. Key features may include a wireless charger, automatic climate control, and a sunroof.
Engine options are likely to include a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine, while lower variants may get a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine seen on the Nissan Magnite. A hybrid option could also be introduced later. Both manual and automatic gearboxes are expected.
Nissan Tekton is likely to be priced between Rs 10-11 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a strong contender once it finally launches.
