New SUVs, EVs and sedans are coming to India ahead of the 2026 festive season. Kia Sorento, MG Hector Hawk and Tata Safari EV will expand the SUV market. Skoda Slavia and Tata Tigor will receive major updates soon.
India's car market is set for another round of new launches in the coming months, with manufacturers preparing models across different body styles and powertrains. From refreshed sedans and new SUVs to electric and hybrid models, several cars are expected to arrive before the 2026 festive season.
Here are some of the key SUVs, EVs and sedans coming soon to the Indian market.
The SUV segment will see some of the most important launches in the coming months. One of the biggest upcoming models is the MG Hector Hawk/Tomahawk EV, which is scheduled to launch on August 26, 2026. Based on the Wuling Starlight 560, it will be the first MG model in India to use the brand's new ADAPT architecture.
The electric SUV is expected to use a 69.2kWh LFP battery pack and could offer a claimed range of around 530km. It will also be positioned as a three-row electric SUV, giving buyers another option in the growing family EV segment.
Another important launch will be the Kia Sorento, which is scheduled to arrive on September 4. The three-row SUV will be Kia India's first strong-hybrid model and has already been confirmed to get an all-wheel-drive system. It is expected to use a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol strong-hybrid powertrain, while a 2.2-litre diesel engine is also expected.
Mahindra has also revealed its new Scorpio Lifestyler pickup, although its India sales will begin in April 2027. Positioned as a more accessible alternative to the Toyota Hilux, the pickup will get premium features including a sunroof, ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control, surround-view cameras and ADAS.

The electric vehicle space will also see several new additions. The Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq has already been launched, bringing equipment and cabin changes to the electric SUV. One of the biggest updates is its triple-screen dashboard layout, while the cabin also receives additional storage and new upholstery options.
Mahindra has also introduced the BE 6 Formula E Freedom Edition, which is based on the larger 79kWh battery pack. It gets a claimed range of 683km, along with Formula E-inspired styling and additional equipment on higher variants.
Tata Motors is preparing the Safari EV, which will become the electric version of its three-row SUV. It is expected to follow the Harrier EV's powertrain strategy and could be offered with standard-range and long-range rear-wheel-drive versions, along with an all-wheel-drive option.
The Tata Tigor EV facelift is another upcoming electric model. Its exterior and interior updates are expected to mirror the changes made to the standard Tigor facelift. A 26kWh battery pack is expected, similar to the updated Tiago EV.
Maruti Suzuki is also working on its new electric MPV, internally known as the YMC. The three-row model is expected to arrive in 2027 and will share its Heartect-e architecture with the e Vitara. It is expected to offer a range of around 500km and could rival the Kia Carens Clavis EV.
The sedan segment may not be seeing as many new launches as SUVs and EVs, but there are still some important updates on the way. The biggest upcoming sedan launch is the 2026 Skoda Slavia facelift, scheduled for August 18. The updated model will receive a revised grille, new lighting elements, redesigned bumpers and new alloy wheels.
Inside, the Slavia facelift is expected to get a 10.25-inch digital driver's display alongside its existing 10.25-inch infotainment screen. New upholstery and trim finishes are also expected, while a rear-seat massage function could be offered.
The familiar 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engines are expected to continue. The smaller 1.0-litre engine could, however, get a new eight-speed automatic transmission.
The Tata Tigor facelift is also expected to arrive soon. The updated sedan could receive a revised exterior along with new features such as a 360-degree camera, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and wireless phone charging. The existing powertrain options are expected to continue.
The upcoming launch schedule shows how the Indian market is moving beyond conventional petrol and diesel models. SUVs remain a major focus, while electric and strong-hybrid vehicles are becoming increasingly important for manufacturers.
The Skoda Slavia facelift and Tata Tigor facelift will bring updates to the sedan segment, while the MG Hector Hawk, Kia Sorento and upcoming Tata Safari EV will expand the choices available to SUV buyers. Meanwhile, models such as the Maruti YMC will add more options for buyers looking for electric family cars.
