Tata Sierra EV launch in Q2, 2026 Avinya premium EV brand introduction by year-end
Tata Motors is getting aggressive with its product strategy, as it is planning to introduce a wide range of new SUVs and EVs in the country by the end of this decade. After introducing the Punch facelift and Sierra, the homegrown automaker will introduce the Tiago EV facelift, Sierra EV and the Avinya premium electric brand. While the Tiago EV will be a mid-life update, the Sierra electric and Avinya will be the biggest and most important products for the homegrown passenger vehicle maker.

The much-anticipated Tata Sierra EV will be introduced in the second quarter of 2026, between April and June. Its ICE derivative has already received an overwhelming response from buyers, and currently commands a waiting period of around 6-7 months. The same is expected with the Sierra EV, as it will take on the likes of the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric and Maruti Suzuki e Vitara.
The Sierra EV will be based on the Acti.ev platform that also underpins the Curvv EV. To be positioned between the Curvv EV and the Harrier EV, the new Sierra electric is likely to be offered with two battery choices. The lower-spec models are likely to get a 55kWh battery from Curvv.ev, while the higher-spec variants will get a 65kWh battery from the Harrier.ev. In fact, the higher-spec model will have a dual-motor AWD (All-Wheel-Drive) setup.
