Nissan has revealed an all-new midsize SUV, called the Nissan Kait. This SUV will be sold alongside the all-new Kicks and Magnite in select international markets. The Nissan Kait will be produced at the Resende Industrial Complex in Brazil, with exports aimed at more than 20 markets.
The Nissan Kait won’t be launched in our market. The Japanese brand has already announced the new Tekton SUV for the Indian market. In the Brazilian market, the new Kait will challenge the dominance of the Volkswagen Tera, Hyundai Creta, Fiat Pulse, Renault Kardian and Chevrolet Tracker.

The new Nissan Kait is based on the V-platform that underpins the Nissan Kicks Play. It will be the brand’s new entry-level SUV in select International markets. The Kait carries the typical Nissan design elements and has a crossover-ish profile. Some of the design elements include split LED headlamps, dynamic LED daytime running lamps, a signature Nissan grille with horizontal slats, and a sportier lower bumper that houses a wider air intake.
The side profile looks similar to the Kicks Play, but it has a newly designed and sportier looking alloy wheels. The SUV comes with circular wheel arches with black plastic cladding, roof rails, powered ORVMs with integrated blinkers, and body-coloured door handles. At the back, the Nissan Kait gets sharper tail-lamps connected by a thick bar, KAIT lettering on the tailgate and a bumper-mounted number plate.

In terms of proportions, the new Nissan Kait is 4,304mm in length, 1760mm in width and 1611mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2620mm. The SUV has a boot space of 432-litres.
Key Features include a 7-inch digital driver’s display, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and wireless phone charger. Other features include premium upholstery for seats, automatic and digital air conditioning, adaptive cruise control with speed and distance, 360-degree camera and ADAS features.

Powering the new Nissan Kait is a 1.6-litre, 16-valve, naturally-aspirated, flex-fuel engine that produces 113hp and 149Nm with ethanol and 110hp and 146Nm with petrol. The engine is paired to a CVT automatic gearbox. In the Brazilian market, the new Kait is priced at R$117,990 in Brazil (Rs 20 lakh).
