Renault to Launch 3 New SUVs in India, including Mini Duster & 7-Seater SUV

The French automaker, Renault will launch 3 all-new SUVs in the Indian market by 2027. The company will announce the prices of the new Duster SUV by March 2026, and its hybrid version is planned to be launched by Diwali this year. Moreover, the company has already confirmed a new 7-seater SUV based on the new Duster’s platform. This SUV is most likely to arrive by the end of this year or early next year. 

Interestingly, media report claims that the French automaker is preparing a new sub-4 meter SUV, mini Duster for the Indian market. The new model will sit right between the Kiger and Duster in Renault India line-up. It will have an upright stance and boxy design with rugged body cladding and large wheels. The new MINI Duster will take on the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon and others in the category. 

The new MINI Duster is likely to be launched in 2027. It is likely to share the powertrain options with the Kiger, which is offered with a 1.0L turbocharged petrol with manual and CVT gearbox options, and a 1.0L NA petrol. However, Renault could only offer the turbo engine with the new mini Duster. 

The new Renault Duster is based on the brand’s new CMF-B modular platform, which is also known as Renault Group Modular Platform (RGMP). This platform is flexible enough to accommodate different body styles and sizes along with petrol and hybrid powertrains. The same platform will be used to develop the new MINI Duster and the upcoming 7-seater SUV which is likely to be the 7-seater version of the Renault Boreal or Dacia Bigster. 

The new Duster will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Sierra, Skoda Kushaq and others in the category. It will be offered with a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that produces 163PS and 280Nm of torque, and is paired to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission. The SUV also gets a 100PS/160Nm, 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Its hybrid version gets a 1.8L GDI petrol engine with a dual-motor setup and a 1.4kWh battery pack, offering a combined power and torque output of 160PS and 205Nm, respectively. 

The 7-seater Renault SUV will take on the likes of the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV 7XO and Hyundai Alcazar. It will be offered with a 1.3L turbo petrol and a 1.8L GDI petrol with a strong hybrid engine. The new SUV is likely to measure around 4.6 meters in length, and a wheelbase of around 2.7 meters. The SUV could be revealed by Diwali, while launch could take place in Q1, 2027.
