Tata Motors is planning two big launches in 2027. One is a new electric car brand called Avinya, and the other is the next-gen Tata Nexon. While Avinya will focus on premium electric vehicles, the new Nexon will come with a fresh design and updated features.
Tata’s new electric vehicle brand, Avinya, is expected to launch in 2027. The first model, codenamed P1, will be based on the futuristic 2022 Avinya concept. Although initially set for a 2025 debut, the launch was pushed back to develop a shared architecture with Jaguar Land Rover.
Avinya EVs will be built on Tata’s advanced Gen 3 EV platform. This platform is designed to offer smart features, improved range, and better performance. The design will be radical and premium, which will focus on modern technology like connected features and driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
The next-generation Tata Nexon, codenamed Garud, will also arrive in 2027. It will be based on a heavily updated version of the existing X1 platform, which was first introduced in the Indica and later adapted for the Nexon.
This new Nexon will feature a fresh exterior design, upgraded interiors, and a focus on modern styling and features. Under the hood, Tata is expected to offer petrol and CNG engine options, while the fate of the diesel variant is still undecided.
