Recently, Tata introduced the ICE version of the Tata Curvv, which is available in petrol and diesel guise. It is the third diesel model in its category, as Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta are the other models which are available with an oil burner. This new model adds some serious choices for buyers who want to get themselves a stylish and versatile SUV. We have already compared the petrol variant of Tata Curvv with its rivals. This time, we are comparing the diesel variants of Tata Curvv against two of its main rivals, Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

Prices for the diesel variants of the Tata Curvv start at Rs 11.49 lakh for the base Smart trim ex-showroom. Four main trims exist for the Curvv, which include Smart, Pure, Creative, and Accomplished. The trims, as has become the norm these days, have a host of sub-variants to play with different features. The price keeps going up. The top variant, Accomplished Plus A, is priced at Rs 17.69 lakh.

By comparison, the Hyundai Creta diesel models begin at Rs 12.56 lakh for the bottom diesel manual and reach all of the way to Rs 20.15 lakh for the top-end diesel automatic.
The Kia Seltos diesel, on the other hand, begins from Rs 12.41 lakh and goes up to Rs 20.37 lakh for its top auto variant.

In terms of specifications, the Tata Curvv gets a 1.5-litre diesel engine producing 116bhp and 260Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT. It measures 4308mm in length, 1810mm in width, and 1630mm in height, based on a wheelbase of 2560mm. A decent 500-litre boot space is also provided.
In comparison, the 1.5-litre diesel of the Hyundai Creta makes 115bhp and 250Nm of torque. A 6-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic, and an Intelligent Variable Transmission are the options. Creta is 4300mm long, 1790mm wide, and 1635mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2610mm. Its boot is rated at 433-litres.
The Kia Seltos develops 115bhp and 250Nm of torque from its 1.5-litre diesel engine. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic, and a 6-speed iMT. The Seltos is longer 4315mm in length, while also wider 1800mm and taller 1645mm, but with the same wheelbase as the Creta 2610mm. It offers 433-litres of boot space.
