Tata Nexon Facelift to launch in September Harrier EV slated to be unveiled next All-new Curvv EV expected to be launched in early-2024
Indian auto giant Tata Motors has confirmed it will be launching four new electric SUVs by next year. This includes the all-new Curvv EV and Nexon EV facelift. In addtion, the brand has also confirmed that has no plans of introducing hybrid electric vehicles in its portfolio.
Going ahead with its future plans of electrification, the company is launching the Tata Nexon EV facelift as the first new product for 2023. Expected to make its debut in September, the new EV will be followed by Punch EV and Harrier EV towards the end of this year. An all-new product, the Curvv EV will join Tata Motors SUV portfolio by the start of Q1 2024,
At a recent shareholder meeting, Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran said, "Tata Motors India, as well as JLR has extensive plans on EVs. We have launched a number of products already. We have a new upgraded Nexon, which will be launched anytime this year. We will then be launching the Harrier, Punch and finally the Curvv towards the first quarter next year.” He also added that by 2030, 50 percent of Tata Motors' passenger vehicles and 65 percent of JLR vehicles will run on green technology.
Chandrasekaran also stated that there are plans to introduce new EVs for Jaguar Land Rover as well. He added that JLR will start accepting bookings for the new Range Rover and Range Rover Sport EV from October onwards. Meanwhile, all-new Jaguar EVs are slated to launch sometime in 2025.
Tata Motors recently announced that it is building a new battery factory for electric vehicles in the United Kingdom, with a capacity of 40 GW.
