Tata Sierra EV launch in Q2, 2026 To get two battery choices Sierra ICE commands 6-7 months waiting period
Tata Motors is all set to launch the Punch EV facelift in the country on February 20, 2026. The updated model will come with cosmetic design and interior changes along with a longer list of features. It was speculated that the Tata Sierra EV will be launched in Q1, 2026; however, our sources reveal that the launch will take place in Q2, 2026, around April-June 2026.
The homegrown automaker is currently busy in delivering the new Sierra lifestyle SUV, which has received over 1 lakh orders and commands a waiting period of around 6-7 months. The SUV is available with 3 engine choices - a 1.5L NA petrol, a 1.5L turbo petrol and a 1.5L diesel.

The Tata Sierra EV will be based on the Acti.ev platform that also underpins the Curvv EV. To be positioned between the Curvv EV and the Harrier EV, the new Sierra electric will take on the likes of the Mahindra BE 6 and the Hyundai Creta Electric.
It is likely to be offered with two battery choices, including a 55kWh from Curvv.ev and 65kWh from Harrier.ev. The Sierra EV will be a front-wheel-drive SUV; however, the top-spec model will come with a dual-motor AWD (All-Wheel-Drive) setup. We expect the new Tata Sierra EV to offer a realistic range of up to 450km on a single charge.
The production-spec model looks largely identical to the ICE derivative, except for the few EV-specific design changes. The Sierra EV comes with a boxy design, featuring an upright stance and wraparound rear glass. It has a closed-off front fascia, connected LED DRLs, and lower air vents. The SUV has a high-set bonnet, short overhangs, and flush-type door handles, along with a newer EV-specific wheels.
The cabin layout of the new Sierra EV will be similar to the ICE-powered model, except for the new colour scheme. It will be offered with both dual and triple screen dashboard layout. In terms of features, the electric Sierra will have ventilated and powered front seats, a large panoramic sunroof, LEVEL 2 ADAS, ESC, hill launch and descent assist, and others.
